Upon my release from prison, I was unsure where to begin. The stigma and uncertainty made it difficult to see a clear path forward. That’s when Clean Start Africa stepped in, walking with me on this journey of rehabilitation and reintegration. They provided not just hope but also practical solutions to help me rebuild my life. The charcoal briquette training came at the perfect time, equipping me with the skills to create an environmentally friendly and marketable product. It has given me confidence, purpose, and a renewed sense of self-worth. With this training, I now have a sustainable means of livelihood that allows me to fend for myself and support my family. No longer do I feel like my past defines me—Clean Start Africa has shown me that I have the power to create a better future. I am determined to grow this opportunity into a thriving business, not just for my personal success, but to inspire and empower other formerly imprisoned women to embrace second chances and economic independence.

I am super elated to have finally mastered the skill of charcoal briquette making! This journey has been nothing short of amazing, and I see myself not just benefiting from it but also paying it forward by becoming a trainer of trainers, empowering other women to take up this sustainable venture. None of this would have been possible without Clean Start Africa, which saw potential in me and equipped me with the knowledge and skills to create a better future for myself, my family, and my community. A huge thank you to Madam Teresa for walking with me on this incredible journey of second chances and new beginnings!

Where do I even begin? The pain of being shunned by society after serving my time in prison was overwhelming. The doors of employment slammed shut, not because I lacked skills or determination, but because of my past. The reality of being denied opportunities simply because I could not obtain a certificate of good conduct was heart-wrenching. The stigma was suffocating, making me question if I would ever truly be free. Then came Clean Start Africa—a beacon of hope in my darkest hour. Through their eco briquette training, I can now stand on my own two feet with confidence. I have gained a sustainable, lawful way to earn a living, one that not only benefits me but also empowers my community. I am no longer defined by my past, but by my resilience, determination, and newfound purpose. This is my second chance, and I am embracing it fully.

As a beneficiary of the eco briquette training, I stand here as a proud testament to the power of second chances. Why do I say this? Because few institutions or individuals are willing to stand with a formerly imprisoned woman—our past alone is often a barrier. But Clean Start Africa, under the leadership of Madam Teresa, has broken that stigma and given us the opportunity to rebuild our lives. This training has not only equipped me with hands-on skills to produce eco-friendly cooking fuel but has also empowered me with project management, communication, and financial literacy skills—all essential for running a successful and sustainable business. I urge organizations, leaders, and communities to support more initiatives like this because, when given the chance, we can thrive, contribute, and uplift society. Thank you, Clean Start Africa, for believing in us!
