Clean Start Solutions is a Kenyan social enterprise
founded in January 2015 by Teresa Njoroge to provide a
second chance to women and children leaving prison.
We are a team of 9 women and one man, 40% of
whom have a lived prison experience.
The foundation of Clean Start was inspired by the
women’s stories of rejection, stigma, lack of
occupational opportunities and their painful
reconciliation journey.
Ours is to be a bridge over the trench of stigma,
isolation, pain and outrage, abandonment, depression,
illness, lack of economic and education opportunities
and DEATH.
We work with the women to design and execute tailormade
solutions to the challenges in reintegration, while
changing the prison narrative in Kenyan society.
